Impressive GCSE results for Humphrey Perkins pupils !

Both the staff and Governors of Humphrey Perkins are delighted to see that once again pupils’ GCSE attainment has improved.

Year 11 pupils have produced some impressive GCSE results, Including a large number of top GCSE grades.

Miss Jill Walton, the new Headteacher of Humphrey Perkins and former Deputy Head of the school said, “We are extremely proud of our pupils for achieving this set of improved GCSE results and we wish to thank them for their continued hard work, resilience and determination to achieve their very best. The way our pupils approached both their exam revision and the final exam itself was truly impressive and we have been very fortunate to work for the last 5 years with such mature and positive young people. I would also like to thank our teachers for their hard work and commitment towards our young people and parents for their continued support of the school.”

Results day at Humphrey Perkins was a real highlight of the academic year, where teachers welcomed pupils back into the school to collect their examination results. Mrs Kirby, Senior Assistant Principal said, “It was lovely to see both pupils and teachers celebrating together and to have the opportunity to wish our young people all the very best for their bright futures beyond Humphrey Perkins.”

This year saw the change of grading in English and Maths to a 9-1 system as part of the revised GCSEs. Nationally, there has been some uncertainty around how performance would compare in these new more challenging GCSEs to previous years. However, Humphrey Perkins is delighted to see attainment improvements in both of these key subjects and in many other GCSE subjects who will move to the 9-1 system in 2018.
