Netball Tournament Success

25th May 2016

Our Year 9 Netball team travelled to Wreake Valley on Thursday to take part in a local school tournament.

The girls got off to a flying start beating Wreake Valley 9-0.  The team went into the next round buzzing from their clean sheet game and won against Martin High 6-0.

After a short break the team played the third round in rough conditions – rain and wind, the Goal Shooter and Attack were struggling to find the net due to the wind.  We won the round 6-2.

The final round was the tie break round between us and Rawlins – both teams had won all three rounds, so this game would see us come first or second.  After a fast pace first half it was 2-0 to Rawlins, the team went into the second half determined to get onto the score card – the girls managed to break Rawlins momentum and score two quick goals.  Unfortunately Rawlins found their feet again and won the game 6-2.

Shout outs to our Year 9 Netball Team players Lola Spiteri, Hollie Minty, Jazzie Grant, Rihanna Smith, Sarah Chortak, Rose Stafford, Amelia Aldridge, Sophie Lees, Ella Hunter, Emma Lacey, Eloise Pilling for great team work and skill to come 2nd in this tournament.
