We are silent

24th November 2015

As part of our Free the Children work Mrs Colburn-Hayes organised a 'We are silent' afternoon at school. This was following an initial national 'We are silent' march in London which some of our pupils took part in. Every pupil and member of staff were silent for a local or global cause they felt strongly about. It allowed all pupils to think about local and global issues, some of these included bullying, self harm, child labour, the right to education for all, climate change. The silence around school was extremely powerful and thought provoking for our pupils. Following this some of our pupils are organising a larger scale 'We are silent' march in our local area. This will hopefully happen in the summer term.
